Dr. Simon-Peter Kafui Aheto

Dr. Simon-Peter Kafui Aheto is a Senior Lecturer of Information Technology and Education at the Department of Distance Education of the University of Ghana. He is an Educational and Information Technologist and Youth Development practitioner who has distinguished himself in his area of expertise. He co-ordinates the Course Delivery Unit of the Department. Dr. Aheto holds a Doctorate in Information Technology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Technology both from Cape Peninsula University of Technology and the University of Cape Town both in Cape Town, South Africa, respectively. He attained his Masters and Undergraduate degrees from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. He is a professionally trained teacher who graduated from the then Presbyterian Training College of Education, Akropong-Akuapem. He has other qualifications from The Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in Germany. He has enormous experience in Distance Education Management and Research spanning over two decades. His research areas include Learning Analytics, Distance Education, Rhizomatic Learning, Blockchain in Education and Gender issues in Education. Currently Dr. Aheto is the Lead Reseacher for the UNESCO National Assessment on Internet Universality Indicators (IUI) for Ghana.
