Admission Requirements for Communication Studies

In addition to the University of Ghana's specific requirements for the admission in a Post Graduate programme which can be found here, the following are other requirements for the Department of Communication Studies.

MASTER OF ARTS (MA)

A good first degree in any field of academic study with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) from a reputable university is required. The selection of propective students upon application to the Department consists of an entrance examination and an interview

MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY

MPhil entry is based on Student's performance in the MA course. 

DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (PhD)

Admission to the PhD Communication Studies programme requires a relevant masters’ degree (MA/MSc/MPhil) in Communication Studies or related fields. It is limited to candidates whose academic and scholastic records show a potential for successful completion of a doctoral degree programme. The PhD Communication Studies programme is fee-paying and the durations are as follows:

  1.  Full-Time        -  Four (4) years
  2.  Part-Time       -  Six  (6) years
