Dr. Senoo-Dogbey is an accomplished individual with a successful track record in coordinating public health intervention programs. She also has expertise in staff training and capacity building in the areas of infectious diseases, occupational health and safety, and reproductive health. Dr. Senoo-Dogbey is currently a lecturer at the Department of Public Health of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Ghana. She is also an adjunct lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives where she contributes to the training of public health specialists and Nurse specialists in pediatric and infectious diseases, respectively. Before she was appointed full-time lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Senoo-Dogbey worked with the Ghana Health Service and the Ministry of Health for close to twenty (20) years where she coordinated many Public Health Intervention Projects and spearheaded many workshops and training programs. As a public health programs coordinator of La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Health Directorates in the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Senoo-Dogbey contributed to the promotion of sexual health of out-of-school vulnerable and homeless adolescents in peri-Urban and urban areas through community outreach programs, the establishment of adolescent comers for public facilities and the training of adolescent focal persons. She also worked as an institutional Nurse Manager and championed the promotion of professionalism, quality of care, and discipline among nurses and midwives.
Dr. Senoo-Dogbey holds a BSc. Degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a master’s and Ph.D. degrees in public health both from the University of Ghana, School of Public Health.
She is a fellow of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives and an associate member of the Ghana Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (GFELTP).
Her research interest spans blood-borne infectious disease epidemiology, Occupational health, and safety as well as maternal, and adolescent reproductive health, which has led to the publication of peer review articles in many international journals. She is a reviewer for the African Journal of Health Safety and Environment and the International Research Journal of Public and Environmental Health.
Dr. Senoo-Dogbey is enthusiastic about inspiring and mentoring young people to aspire to promote public health practice in Ghana and beyond.
