Jennifer Welbeck (MBChB (Gh), FRCP (Canada), FWACP, FGCPS)

Professor Jennifer Welbeck is an Associate Professor of paediatrics in the School of Medicine and Dentistry (SMD) and a consultant paediatrician to Korle-bu Teaching Hospital. She was formerly the Head of Department of Child Health from 2005 -2010. She was elected the Vice-Dean of the former University of Ghana Medical School for a two- year term in 2012. She became the Acting Dean from August 2013 following the appointment of the substantive Dean, Prof. Yao Tettey as the Acting Provost of the College of Health Sciences. She was appointed the substantive  Dean of SMD a year later in August 2014.  Her academic/clinical interests include neonatology, childhood oncology and haematology (especially haemophilia), child survival strategies and medical education.
