BSTT 624: Health Application Development

This course is designed for students who have already taken the Programming in health Informatics as well as the object oriented system analysis and design courses in the first semester. It covers
advanced programming concepts such as object oriented programming, static methods and fields, generics and collections, data structures, Frameworks such as Core Spring, Database programming using Object Relational Modelling (such as Hibernate), XML and Web Services technologies, multithreading and polymorphisms. The course will focus on advanced programming using Java Technologies and frameworks and C++ in order to develop healthcare applications. Students will learn to use these technologies in practical situations and develop applications during the semester to demonstrate proficiency in the concepts discussed in the classroom.
