The purpose of this course is to provide students with a basic understanding of Health Informatics and its application in healthcare. It introduces the definition of data, information
and knowledge as well as what defines a system and a model. Issues relating to key fundamental concepts such as information security and management and their use inhealthcare will be looked at. This will include discussions of relevant legislation.
