Comprehensive understanding of the molecular aspects and dynamics of structural biochemistry. Examination of nucleic acid, protein, and lipid structures including current topics in conformation and folding, enzyme kinetics, nucleic acid stability, ligand/receptor binding, and bioenergetics. Explanation of experimental strategies including x-ray crystallography, electron microscopy, magnetic resonance and electron paramagnetic spectroscopies used to study macromolecular structure and function.
