• The development of non-invasive tests for diagnosis of tropical diseases, particularly, Malaria
• Identification of tropical disease parasite proteins and determination of their suitability for development of vaccines
• Use of innovation technology to reduce birth related mortalities in women and children in low-income and hard-to-reach rural communities
