MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

I would like to welcome you to the website of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit (AQAU), the Unit mandated to oversee academic quality in all Academic Units, Programmes and Institutions which award University of Ghana (UG) degrees with the view to ensuring that, high standards and good practices in teaching, learning and assessment are adhered to at the UG and that, management is well informed about problems associated with maintaining such standards for appropriate action.

In line with the University’s aspiration to become a World-Class Research-Intensive University, and to ensure that standards are not only maintained but rather enhanced, the Unit has monitored, evaluated and audited many issues related to academic quality over the past years that have informed management’s decision making.  In the 2020/2021 academic year, for example, the Unit produced over 20 reports bothering on Course and Lecturer Evaluation, Student and Lecturer Attendance Monitoring, Monitoring of Course Outlines, Training Workshop for Newly Appointed Academic Staff, among others that have informed management decision in these areas.

As our key stakeholder, we invite you to visit our website regularly and participate in our monitoring and evaluation activities that are normally undertaken through online surveys administered through this site and to create a forum for us to interact with you to help us improve on what we do.

I would like to inform you that Covid -19 is real, the new variants are more deadly and therefore you must strive to protect yourself and others from Infection.
