Vacancies For Coordinators In The University Of Ghana Learning Centres

Starting September 1, 2015 - Ending October 1, 2015 Expired

The School of Continuing and Distance Education (SCDE) of the College of Education focuses on academic programmes and activities towards the expansion of adult, continuing and distance education to student populations, in formats which the traditional face-to-face classroom learning cannot provide. The School offers students the flexibility of online learning to complete some of their coursework, to enable them balance their professional, family and personal commitments.

Since its founding in 1948 as the Department of Extra-Mural Studies, SCDE has becomea centre of excellence in providing university-based adult education, continuing education, as well as distance education across the country. The School has positioned itself to educate the youth, train new entrants into the work force, and continuously educate and re-train adults already in the work force for the acquisition of new knowledge and practical skills for the competitive market-driven, technological, global environment of the 21st century.

Faculty members of the School conduct research across multidisciplinary social science areas, embark on community service in diverse ways which embrace non-formal education and training programmes in health, family life, community improvement, literacy, public lectures and residential schools such as the Annual New Year School and Conference.
