UNIVERSITY OF GHANA PAN AFRICAN DOCTORAL ACADEMY (UG-PADA)

INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE JUNE 2017 DOCTORAL SCHOOLS

The University of Ghana (UG) is pleased to announce the ninth and tenth in the series of Doctoral Schools run by the UG-Pan African Doctoral Academy (UG-PADA)

The Schools are open to PhD candidates from Universities in Africa with particular focus on West African Universities.

Modules Available:

Each Module will be run over a one week period starting June 12^th-16th, and June 18^th-23rd, 2017.

The available Modules are:

SCHOOL 1: June 12^th to 16^th, 2017
	Title
1	Managing the Doctoral Process (including Managing Literature Review )	PhD Year 1 & 2 students
2	Quantitative Research Techniques Using SPSS	PhD Year 2&3 students
3	Communicating Research Results: Science	PhD (Science) students
4	Innovative Thinking	All PhD students
5	Academic Writing

SCHOOL 2: June 19^th to 23rd, 2017.
	Title	Eligibility
1	Leadership Skills and Issues in Career Development for the Emerging Scholar	PhD Year 2 & 3 students
2	Qualitative Research Methodology	PhD Year 2 & 3 students
3	Presentation Skills (Including Conference Presentations-Oral /Poster Preparations)	All PhD students
4	Use of Selected Computer Packages for Research Data Analysis (Please select a package) i. R ii. Atlas.ti	PhD Year 2 & 3 students
5	Evidence Synthesis	All PhD students

Interested candidates may select up to two modules per School in order of preference.

Candidates are advised to apply early as space is limited and will be offered strictly on a first-come-first served basis. The UG-PADA reserves the right to drop undersubscribed modules. Should this happen, students registered for such modules will be offered alternative modules.

Fees Structure

A/ Ghanaian Applicants

All Ghanaian applicants will be expected to pay a subsidized fee of $100.00 only per School, to cover Course fees including lunch and course materials.

University of Ghana applicants on Carnegie Scholarship may use part of their funding to cover the Course fees.

B/ External Applicants

All other applicants from any African country other than Ghana will be expected to pay a subsidized Course fee of $100.00 only per School. In addition to the subsidy on the Course fees, participants will be provided with:

1. Accommodation in a Students Hall of Residence

2. Breakfast and Lunch
