SPECIFICATIONS

Each module will have three levels based on the European framework for language: Level A1 & A2 (Beginners), B1 (Intermediate) & B2, C1 (Advanced). There will be three classes with the following levels. Beginning Classes A1 &A2

Intermediate Classes  B1 

Advanced Classes     B2 & C1 

There will be a minimum of 10 and a maximum 25 students in a class. The course will have different sessions.

5 days per week - Morning 9am-11am

OR Afternoon 2.00 - 4.00 (10 Hours a week over 5 weeks =50 hours)

3 days per week 2.00pm – 4.00pm

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

6 hours a week over 5 weeks = 30 hours

Saturdays  9am -12pm

(3 hours a week, over 5 weeks = 15hours)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The course is open to undergraduate and graduate students from all Departments, lecturers and other employees of the University and the general public who wish to learn French or improve upon a particular communicative skill in the French language. Intended applicants can purchase application forms in person from the Department’s secretary or download the form from the University  website and return the filled form together with the application fee to the department. Summer course for five weeks

Registration fee: GH¢10

10 hrs per week (5 days Mo to Fr – 9.00-11.00-GH¢ 300)

6hrs per week (3 days) 2.00 - 4.00 - GH¢200)

3hrs per week (1 day- Saturday 9.00am - 12.00pm = GH¢100)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The summer course is a language proficiency course intended for students, teachers, members of the university community and the general public desirous of learning French as foreign language. It is a five–week intensive vacation course. It comprises the following modules: 

i) Listening Comprehension and Oral Expression; 

ii) Written Comprehension and Expression; 

iii) Translation.
