Call for Papers and Participation: Strategies for Sustainable Energy Transitions in Urban Sub-Saharan Africa Conference

The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) is pleased to inform the University Community of a Call for Papers and Participation in a two-day conference entitled “Strategies for Sustainable Energy Transitions in Urban Sub-Saharan Africa” (SETUSA) taking place from 19th - 20th June, 2017 at the ISSER Conference Facility, University of Ghana, Legon, Accra.

The SETUSA Conference, jointly organised by ISSER, University of Ghana and the Energy Institute, University College London, is part of the project called “Supporting Sub-Saharan African Municipalities with Sustainable Energy Transitions” (SAMSET), which is ongoing in Ghana, South Africa and Uganda under the sponsorship of the Department for International Development (DFID), the Department for Energy & Climate change (DECC) and the Engineering & Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC).

The conference aims to bring together social scientists, policy-makers, practitioners and entrepreneurs interested in clean energy transitions in the urban sphere, to discuss strategies for moving Sub-Saharan African economies to a more sustainable energy pathways.
