CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) Research Development Fund

 The Worldwide Universities Network is a world leading research university network, tackling global challenges through international collaboration. The WUN Research Development Fund fosters innovative, international collaborative research and mobility programs.

The 2015 WUN Research Development Fund (RDF) offers grants of up to £15,000 (average £10,000) to foster innovative, international collaborative research and mobility programs to faculty members of its partner institutions including new members as a priority, and support research collaborations in the following WUN Global Challenges (see WUN website for full description of the WUN Global Challenges):

 -   Responding to Climate Change – focussing in the 2015 round on global research platforms; and resilience of human systems; related to food and environment security.

 -   Public Health (non-communicable disease) – focussing in the 2015 round on a life course approach to healthy ageing; health of migrants; the resilience of adolescents and health                           workers in different cultural contexts; and schools as a setting for reducing risk factors associated with NCDs.

 -  Global Higher Education and Research – focussing in the 2015 round on access and equity in higher education: economic and social outcomes of diversity and globalisation.

 -   Understanding Cultures – focussing in the 2015 round on migration and population; two-way understanding of China; global digital cultures; and indigenous peoples and societies.

REQUIREMENTS

1.  The RDF is open to only academic staff (faculty members) at WUN member universities.

2.  Applications must first be approved for submission through an internal review process at the principal investigator’s university and submitted to WUN through the local WUN Coordinator              (see information at the end of the RDF Guidelines 2015).

3.  Successful applicants will be required to provide letters of support following notice of award. Applicants who are unable to provide evidence of support at this time will not be provided                  funding. Please note that this in no way diminishes the central requirement that support (both in the form of participation and the provision of matched funding) from collaborating partners          be obtained.

4.   Applicants should submit their RDF application on the basis that they have secured the commitment of collaborating partners and this is expressed in a statement in the application form.

5.   Provision of CVs –Only the CV of the Principal Investigator (one page maximum) should be attached to the application. The CVs/profiles of all collaborating partners should be included as            URL links at the section on Teamwork.

Applications along with all accompanying documents must be submitted to the WUN Coordinator at your institution via email to aaadjei@ug.edu.gh  no later than 5pm GMT on Monday 31 August 2015.
