ADMISSION OF STUDENTS INTO PH.D MUSIC PROGRAMME
Applications are invited from suitable graduates who wish to pursue Ph.D Music (Theory & Composition and Ethnomusicology options)
KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
· Equip graduates with the knowledge and skills that will enable them meet the challenges of the twenty-first century;
· Produce scholars with strong research background in Music Theory & Composition, and Ethnomusicology.
· Produce scholars who would help teach Music Theory & Composition, and Ethnomusicology in all universities.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates applying into the Ph.D. programme should possess a relevant Masters’ degree in Music from the University of Ghana or any recognized University.
PROGRAMME DURATION
The Ph.D. Programme in Music shall be four years for full time students and six years for part- time students.

University of Ghana application e- voucher can be obtained by Ghanaian applicants for Gh¢ 180.00 at the following banks: Zenith Bank, Universal Merchant Bank, Ecobank, HFC Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Unibank, Ghana Commercial Bank and Fidelity Bank. Applicants should follow carefully the instructions on the voucher when completing the online application form. Applicants must in addition submit online the following documents: Certificates, Transcripts. Three referee’s reports will be required.
