Head of Department's Welcome

Welcome to the Department of Animal Science, a unit in the School of Agriculture, within the College of Basic and Applied Sciences. We value your interest in the Department. Prospective students, current students, all staff members and visitors are considered as partners in our efforts to build a variant department capable of meeting the needs of Ghana’s Livestock Industry.

We have impressive undergraduate and graduate programmes. We also offer technical and professional skills in teaching, research, and extension. The main areas of specialization in postgraduate programmes in the Department are Animal Breeding and Genetics, Animal Nutrition, Animal Physiology, Microbiology and Immunology, Meat Science and Technology, and Range and Forage Science.

The Department of Animal Science is opened to all people and positioned to attract scholars, industrialists and entrepreneurs from Ghana and the international community.
